Converging Lenses

As long as the object is outside of the focal point the image is real and inverted. When the object is inside the focal point the image becomes virtual and upright.  

Diverging Lenses

The image is always virtual and is located between the object and the lens

convex lens are known as converging lens

in converging lens the light rays meet at a point

the image can be real and virtual

⏩⏩in diverging lens the light rays will always diverge each other and will never meet at a point...

concave lens are known as diverging lens

in diverging lens the light rays will not meet at a point

the image is always virtual
