What are cookies. Explain there security and privacy concerns.

Cookies:-

A cookie also known as a web cookie or a browser cookie, is a small piece of data sent from website and stored in a user's web browser, while user is browsing a site.

There security and privacy concerns are as follows:-

  • Session data:- It may track user's personal data such as emails, passwords etc.

  • Tracking information:- Cookies track information about user that what he or she likes to browse more and shows ads relating that things.

  • Public computers:- While browsing in a public computer cookies can give your information and data to different and unknown users.

Active measures against computer threats:-

  • Installing and propely using an antivirus software.

  • Read instructions given by PC carefully.

  • Never installing anything from unknown sources.

Active measures:-

Even though security programs may actively detect and eliminate any threats your PC encounters, you should always help to prevent these issues from ever arising.
