planner said of molecules and all of its atom lies in the same pain plane..... atoms groups, bonds, or other object lying within the same plane are perpendicular or coplanar.

Coplanar means molecules or gatherings of iotas that lie on a similar plane. Like biphenyl, it has both benzene rings on a similar plane. The point when all molecules of a compound are in a similar plane is called coplanar mixtures. Co planarity in natural mixtures is seen in unsaturated particles.

The correct answer is option C.

  • In option 1, both carbons are sp³ hybridized hence they have tetrahedral symmetry which means they are not coplanar.
  • In options 2 and 4 all the carbon are sp³ hybridized hence they have tetrahedral symmetry which means they are not coplanar.
  • Option 3, sp²  hybridized carbon structures trigonal planer design. In biphenyl structure, all the carbon molecules are sp²  hybridized thus all-particle are in the same plane.
