Upon impact with the Earth's atmosphere, cosmic rays can produce showers of secondary particles that sometimes reach the surface. Composed primarily of high-energy protons and atomic nuclei, they are originated either from the sun or from outside of our solar system.....

Cosmic rays are high energy rays which are also known as gamma radiations, these gamma radiations originate from decaying surroundings as if in sun's fission processes or stars burning !
Well these gamma rays are very strong and high energy rays due to their high frequency,
Gamma rays can kill living cells on which they're incident.
They can affect the photographic plates.
Gamma rays are very dangerous if exposed for a long time on anything.
They have high penetrating power due to their small Wavelength and thus they are harmful.
