Covalent compounds are the compounds formed by sharing of electrons between two or more atoms of elements(may be different or same).

Example:- HCl, H2O

sukhiibrar: HCl is ionic not covalent
AmbikeshArman: Hcl is covalent
AmbikeshArman: Not ionic
AmbikeshArman: It is a polar covalent compound which dissociates into ions on mixing with water
sukhiibrar: Cl is more electronegative
sukhiibrar: ys..its rght polar covalent

the chemical bond that is formed between two combining atoms by mutual sharing of one or more pairs of electrons is called a covalent bond and the compounds formed due to this bond is called covalent compound

for example hydrogen is a non metal and chlorine is also a non metal when hydrogen combines with chlorine to form hydrogen chloride the sharing of electrons takes place between hydrogen and chlorine atoms and a covalent bond is formed

hope it will help you
