the covalent compound are form by the bonding of the two or more poor level elements that is the non metal . they may be form by the bonding of same of different caterogi of elements of the negative group only. in their bonding they share their electron for temporary use. for examples the bonding of oxygen and hydrogen to form water.
but in ionic compound only the bonding of rich and poor element bonding is allowed. such as the bonding of metal and nonmetal that is of positive and negative only of different element.

HEY THERE,

...................covalent compouds are the compounds which share their valence electrons.

.................... ionic compounds are extremely polar (eg,water) whereas the the covalent compounds are non-polar or less polar(eg,h2 ,ne).

.................... ionic bonds are reaction between metals and non metals whereas the covalent bonds are reaction between non metals.

....................high melting and boiling points because of the strong. intermolecular attraction.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU
