What are covalent compounds why are they different from ionic compounds list yheir three characteristic properyies?

Covalent compounds have low boiling and melting point.While, ionic compounds have high boiling and melting point.

Covalent compounds are formed between two non-metals.While, ionic compounds are formed between one mental and a non-metal.

Covalent compounds are in liquid or gaseous state.Ionic compounds are solid.

Covalent compounds have definite shape while ionic compounds doesnt have.
