It is also known as bulbourethral gland.

Some information about cowper's gland are as follows:-

1. It is a paired gland present on lateral side of the urethra. Exactly lies in the membranous part of the urethra.

2. It gets open into the penile urethra.

3. Transparent, slimy and jelly like fluid is secreted by this gland.

4. Like seminal vesicle it is also slightly alkaline (pH is 7.2).

5. It destroys acidity of the urethra and it cleans for the movement of sperm.

6. Most and unique function of this is to provide lubrication to the penis.
