When plants at large scale are grown at the same place is called crops.
Example:-Cereals,pulese,etc.
Definition:- Before growing a crop,some steps are followed to grow a crop healthy and strong are called agricultural practices.
▪️Agricultural practices:
- Preparation of soil:-Before sowing a seed,the soil is properly prepared so that seed can penetrate deep into the soil.
- Sowing:-The seeds are sown in the soil from which a plant starts growing.Before sowing, different quality and good quality seeds are chosen by the farmers.
- Adding manure and fertilizers:-Manures and fertilizers are used in the field,so that the crop can grow properly.Manure is better than fertilizers.
- Irrigation:-The watering of the crop at a regular interval of time is known as Irrigation.
- Protection from weeds:-There are some unwanted plants that grows between the crops.So,we should cut that weeds or spray weedicides (type of chemical that can kill weeds).
- Harvesting:-The cutting of crops after they are mature is known as harvesting.It can be done with the help of thresher which is a harvester and as well as a thresher.
- Storage:-When the crops are cut then they should be stored in silos and grainaries.To protect them from pests and insects we must store the crops.
