Dermal tissue: Tissues that form outer coverings are called as dermal tissue. It gives protection to the plant.
On the basis of their location Dermal tissue is divided into three parts. They are
1. Epidermis: Outermost layer in stem, root or leaf
2.Mesodermis: Middle layer
3.Endodermis: innermost layer
USES :- Gum is secreted from the dermal layer of tree.
The dermal layer protects the plant from loss of water, mechanical damage and invasion of parasitic and disease causing organisms.
