Difference between respiration and breathing are -

  1. Breathing is a physical process whereas respiration is bio-chemical process.
  2. Air containing oxygen is taken into the lungs and air loaded with carbon dioxide is given in out during breathing. But during respiration, oxygen taken in is used in oxidising glucose and energy is released.
  3. Lungs are mainly involved during breathing whereas respiration occurs in all living cell of the body.
