Explanation:
Sediments can occur in water bodies naturally, but they are also produced in large amounts as a result of land-use change and agriculture. Activities such as farming, clearing forests, building roads, and mining can put too much soil and particulate matter in rivers.

The different activities that can put too much sediment in the river are-
- Deforestation- The clearing of forests for different purposes such as agriculture, land use etc. has exposed the soil surface. The exposed soil enters the rivers through surface runoff causing too much sediment in the river.
- Farming- The agricultural runoff that is released into water bodies contains chemicals and sediments. These sediments are deposited at the mouth of the river.
- Land use- Increasing development of land is increasing the surface runoff. With the construction of dams, mining activities and building of roads, too many sediments are formed that enters the river through the surface runoff
