In modern democracies power-sharing arrangements are in many forms like

(i)    Horizontal Distribution of Powers—In this form of power-sharing, power is shared between Executive, legislative and Judiciary.

(ii)    Vertical Distribution of Powers

In this type of power-sharing, power is administered at the various levels of authority like the State level and National level.

(iii) Power sharing among different social groups

In this way, power may also be distributed among various social groups such as the theological and linguistic groups.

(iv) Power sharing among Political Parties

Sometimes power-sharing agreements can also be observed in the way political parties, pressure groups regulate the power.
