- Adolescence is time period of physical and psychological growth between childhood and adulthood.

- Taboos surrounding menstruation doesn't includes women and girls from many aspects of cultural and social life.

- Some of them are helpful, but mostly have harmful implications.

- Unfortunately in many parts of India, menstruation is still considered as dirty and impure.

- The origin of this myth dates back to the Vedic times.

- Further, in Hindu faith women are prohibited from participating in normal life while menstruating.

- Other myths : when we are teenager/adult we can eat whatever we want and burn it off.

- Teens/adults don't need much sleep during adolescence.
