The following rules which is necessary for obtaining the images formed by a concave mirror are:

1. The incident ray on the concave mirror must be parallel to its principal axis and must be reflect through the focus.

2. The incident ray on the concave mirror which passes through its focus should reflect parallel to its principal axis.

3. The incident ray on the concave mirror which passes through center of curvature then the light will be reflected through the way of incidence.

4. The incident ray which passes through the pole of the concave mirror then it must be reflected as per the rule of the law of reflection.
