Tides are of two types spring tides and neap tides
SPRING TIDES- When the sun the Earth and the Moon are in straight direction and the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon is combined to form the highest tide is these high tides are called spring tide. These happens twice a month at first New Moon.
NEAP TIDES- When the Sun and the Earth are in different direction the lowest Tides are formed. The pull of the Moon opposed by the pull of the sun. These water level between high Tides and Low Tides are called Neap tides. This happens twice a month at first and third quarter of the Moon.
