Advantages Of Secularism: -

• Making Just Decisions: - The state's separation from religious organizations ensures that decisions are made fairly that accord both religious and nonreligious groups the same respect. No religious group can compel the government to take action in their favor.
• Speech Freedom: - People can openly express their thoughts and beliefs thanks to secularism's worldview. No religious group can exert pressure of domination, just as in a secular state. The right to free speech is increasingly affected by this.

Disadvantages Of Secularism: -

• Political parties abuse secularism by conducting politics in the name of religion. They encourage the promotion of one religion over another, which fosters communalism.
• Each religion offers its own law because the State does not interfere with religious principles. The Muslim Board, for instance, abides by its own personal legislation. As a result, there is no homogeneity.
• The State Function includes some religious cultural practices, which once more solely promote one religion. Hindu traditions, such as performing Aarti and applying tilak to the forehead, are also carried out at official functions.
• The religious minority continues to be afraid of the overwhelming majority.
