Explanation:
In a double displacement reaction, two compounds react in aqueous solution state to give two new compounds of which one has to in aqueous solution state. Basically here the ions of each compounds displace with each other two form 2 new compounds.
For example AB + CD = AD + CB. Here A and C are positive ions joined with B and D respectively. On reacting both of these ions interchange their respective anions.

The reaction in which two compound react by an exchange of ions and form two new compound is called Double Displacement reaction.
Example
- BaCl2(aq) + Na2SO4(aq) → BaSO4(s) + 2 NaCl(aq)
- Fe2O3 + 6HCl → 2FeCl3 + 3H2O
- AgNO3 + NaCl → AgCl + NaNO3
