The Directive Principles of State Policy are found in Articles 36–51 of Part IV of the Indian Constitution (DPSP).
- The implementation of the Directive Principles is covered under Article 37 of the Indian Constitution. These concepts seek to create a welfare state in India and provide socioeconomic fairness for all citizens.
Difference between Fundamental Rights and DPSPs
- Unlike the Fundamental Rights (FRs), the DPSP's scope is unbounded and it protects a citizen's rights as well as labour at a large scale.
- The DPSP is made up of all the principles that the State ought to uphold and have in mind while creating national policy and passing legislation.
- Fundamental Rights are prohibitive in nature since they place restrictions on the State, whereas Directive Principles are affirmative guidelines.
