A wetness indicator is a common feature in many disposable diapers and toilet training pants. It is a feature that reacts to exposure of liquid as a way to discourage the wearer to urinate in the training pants, or as an indicator for parents that a diaper needs changing.

any substance that gives a visible sign, usually by a colour change, of the presence or absence of a threshold concentration of a chemical species, such as an acid or an alkali in a solution. ... The common application of indicators is the detection of end points of titrations.

Baby Dry is designed to hold more pee, so if you're in a situation where you can't change baby regularly (say overnight or on a long car ride), they're ideal. A wetness indicator would be superfluous since in those situations you know baby will probably pee a few times before you can change him.
