The sound heard after reflection from rigid obstacles such as(Hillside, wall of a building, edge of forest) is called Echo. The sensation of sound last in our brain for 0. 1 second even after the source of sound has stopped vibrating. Hence, the Echo is heard distinctly if it reaches the ear at least 0. 1 second later than the original sound is heard . The minimum distance of the obstacle from the source of sound must be 16. 6 m . Echo maybe heared more than once.
