In order to reduce the eddy current loss, the resistance of the core should be increased. In other words, low reluctance should be retained. In devices like transformers, the core is made up of laminations of iron. ie,the core is made up of thin sheets of steel, each lamination being insulated from others.

Hi there!!!
EDDY CURRENTS : The induced current produced in the bulk pieces of conductor when the magnetic flux through the conductor changes are known as Eddy currents.
THESE CURRENTS CAN BE REDUCED BY:
1. By minimizing the area through which flux is passing.
2. In cylinder cores of generators vanishing material called lacquer is introduced between its layers due to this eddy currents remain confined in the layers. This material acts as resistance between two different layers.
