When force is applied on a stationary object, the object tends to move in the direction in which force is applied. For example, applying force on a stationary tennis ball will make it continue its motion in the direction of applied force

Force can change the state of motion.

Eg: A ball at rest begins to move when a force is applied to it.

Force can change the shape and size of an object.

Eg: Making a paper boat, pressing the wheat dough into chapatti.

Force can stop a moving object.

Eg: Stopping a moving ball with our hands.

Force can change the direction of motion of the moving object.

Eg: A batsman hits the cricket ball with a bat.

Force can change the speed of a moving object.

Eg: When more force is applied on the pedal by a cyclist, the speed increases.
