Salmonellosis. Similar to rodents, cockroaches are known to transmit the Salmonella [sp.] bacteria which can cause salmonellosis, a disease in humans with symptoms similar to food poisoning. It is believed that cockroaches accumulate the bacteria by feeding on contaminated food.

They crawl through sewages and become the carrier of many disease causing germs which have adverse effect on human health. Salmonella Typhi which is found in cockroaches causes typhoid. Poliomyletis which mainly causes polio are found in insects. They are also a main causes for causing dysentry.
