The compounds (mainly inorganic acid,bases and salt) which in molten state or In aqueous solution spontaneously dissociate into positively and negatively charged ions,conduct electricity with the help of these ion and undergo simultaneous chemical decomposition at the electrodes are called electrolytes.
example:HCl,H2SO4---->acids
NaOH,KOH---->bases
NaCl,KNO3---->salts

Electrolytes - Compounds which conduct electricity when dissolved in water or in the molten state and undergo chemical decomposition due to the flow of current through it are called electrolytes.

Examples - NaCl, CuSO4, H2SO4, HBr, Na2SO4, etc.
