electromagnets are temporary magnets which behaves like magnet only when electricity s passed through any iron object..

Shubhamkumar111: the magnet when we passed electric through then reaction is magnetic behavior nearly things attract like iron and magnetic material is called magnetic material

Electromagnets are long rods made of ferromagnetic materials like Iron, with an insulated electrical wire wound many times over it from end to end.  It is like a coil of electrical wire with a ferromagnetic rod inside it.

Then current is passed through the wire.  The current creates magnetic field around it and inside the coil.  The iron rod and the coil combination behaves as a strong magnet.

When the current is stopped through the coil, then it stops behaving as a magnet.

Electromagnets are temporary but very strong magnets and we can make them of the required strength.

Example:   We have an electromagnet in the door bell that is present usually in every house.
