Explanation:

Electrophiles are electron acceptors while nucleophiles are electron donors. Electrophiles accept electrons because they are either positively charged or they have empty valence shells.

Electrophiles :

Electrophiles are electron deficient species and can accept an electron pair from electron rich species.

Examples of Electrophiles include carbocations and carbonyl compounds.

Nucleophile :

A nucleophile is electron rich species and donates electron pairs to electron deficient species.

Examples of nucleophile include carbanions, water , ammonia, cyanide ion etc.

Differences :

1] Electrophiles are positively charged or neutral.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nucleophiles are negatively charged or neutral.

2] Electrophiles undergo electrophilic addition and electrophilic substitution reactions.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nucleophiles undergo nucleophilic addition and nucleophilic substitution reactions.

3] Electrophiles are Electron-deficient.

--------------------------------------------------------

   Nucleophiles are Electron-rich .
