What are endocrine glands?
Ans:
Endocrine glands are the ductless glands because they do not have special ducts as exocrine glands.

How do their secretion reach target site ?
Ans:Endocrine glands release their secretion directly into the blood and this secretion travels throughout the body and thus reaches the target organs.

Functions of:
1.Growth hormone:
Growth hormone is secreted by pitutary  gland whose function is to control  growth and develpment of the body.

2.Insulin:
Insulin is secreted by pancreas and its function is to maintain the level of glucose in the body.

3.Thyroxin:
Thyroxin is secreted by thyroid gland and its function is to control the rate of metabolism of carbohydrates,fats and proteins in the body.

4.Prolactin:
Prolactin is a hormone secreted by Pitutary gland in both males  and females which in coordination of other hormones initiate the secretion of milk from mammary glands But in males it does not affect much.
