Carbon dioxide, excess water produced during respiration and nitrogenous compounds produced during protein metabolism are the major excretory substances in plants.
Oxygen is excreted during photosynthesis and carbon dioxide is excreted during respiration.

The methods used by plants to get rid of excretory products are :-
• Gasesous products through stomata in leaves and lenticels in stems .
• Stored solid and liquid waste by the shedding off leaves , peeling off bark and felling off fruits .
• Wastes by secreting them in the form of gums and resins .
• Plants also excrete some waste
substances into the soil around them .
