There are 3 mains types of algebraic expressions which include:

Monomial Expression

Binomial Expression

Polynomial Expression

Monomial expression:An algebraic expression which is having only one term is known as a monomial.

Examples of monomial expression include 3x4, 3xy, etc.

Binomial expression:A binomial expression is an algebraic expression which is having two unlikely terms.

Examples of binomial include 5xy + 8, xyz + x3, etc.

polynomial:In general, an expression with more than one terms with non-negative integral exponents of a variable is known as a polynomial.

Examples of polynomial expression include ab + bc + ca, etc.

Answer

Algebraic expression are simple expressions expressions are formed from variables and constants.

Example :

x + 3..2y - 5..3x {}^{2} ..4xy + 7 \: etc...

The expression 2y-5 is formed from variables and constants 2 and 5.The expressions 2y-5 is formed variables c and y and constants 4 and 7.

We know that value of y in the expression, 2y-5,may be anything. it can

be 2,5,-3,0, \frac{5}{7} - \frac{ 7}{3} etc...
