Feminist Movement is a movement that demands and defends equal economic, social, political rights for women and also aims at creating equal opportunities for women in all fields. Apart from the issues that global feminist movements fight for like equal wages, equal political rights and equal access to health and education, feminist movement in India has to also address patriarchal issues like inheritance laws, dowry, gender discrimination at home. 
 1. In 1829, efforts of social reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy saw the act that abolished Sati.
 2. Reformers like Ishwar Chandra Vidya Sagar efforts towards Widow Remarriage Act which was passed in 1856.
 3. A women's delegation met the Secretary of State for the first time in 1917 with a demand for political rights. This referendum was supported by the Indian National Congress.
 4. In 1927, for women's right for education, the All India Women's Education Congress was organised at Pune.
 5. In 1929, the Child Marriage Restraint Act was passed and the minimum age of marriage at 14.
6. 33 percent of seats in constitutional bodies are now reserved for women. Same is the case in legislative
