ur democratic political system is a representative one. We vote every 4 years and elect our representatives who decide for us until the next election. During this time many things change and new ones develop. Here is the problem with representation the way we know. Our elected representatives will decide on major issues like war for instance whether we agree or not without any consultation. In the old days there was not much to be done about it. However, with today’s technology many decisions could be made with voters’ participation. A few countries like Switzerland are trying to fill this gap. When major countries like USA will decide to follow this developing trend people might be more interested in politics as participation will increase. Then representative democracy will be a better political system.
