Hi there!
Fossil fuels are the energy resources made by living matter, which is formed by dead and decaying matter. It takes thousands of years for their generation. When the layers of the soil gets deposited the dead matter goes down till the mantle and core. Due to natural processes it is converted into fuels. Which are then extracted by us. As their generation takes a long time they should be conserved. They also sometimes cause pollution.
Hope it helps!
