Fossils are the remains of dead and deccaying matterof plants and animals over millions of years ago.

When an organisms die it get burried under the soil.after burried down it get decompose and the part which do not get decomposeand is left behind like skeletons.it was discovered by digging up in the soil.the fossils which were found near the earth surface we're the recent fossils and which found away from the earth surface were the older fossils
