What are fossils? How do they act as an evidence for organic evolution..?

the remains of dead animals of plants that lied in remote past ate known as fossils.

fossils provide evidence for evolution. for example, the bird called archaeopteryx look like bird but had feathred which r found in reptiles. this is because it has wings like those of birds but teeth and tail of reptiles.

fossils provide evidence that the present animal have originated from the previous existing once through the process of continuous evolution
