What are fossils? How do we know the age of fossils?

Fossil:

Exhaustible natural resources like coal, petroleum and natural gas. These where formed from the dead remains of living organisms. These are known as fossil.

Fossil fuels required million of years to form from the dead vegetation and animals that get buried deep inside the earth. they require high temperature and pressure for their formation, which cannot be provided in the laboratory.
