\huge{\bold{ FOSSILS}}

\bold{ Fossils} are the ramains or impressions of dead animal and plants.

\large{\bold{Calculation\:of\:age\:of\:Fossils :}}

➡ The age of Fossils can be obtained by two ways:

1. \bold{ Relative\:method }

➡ When we dig into the earth, we find Fossils at different depths. The fossils which we find in layers closer to the surface of the earth are more recent and the Fossil which are found in deeper layer the older whereas the fossils found in the deepest layers of earth are the oldest ones.

2. \bold{ Carbon\:dating\:method}

➡ fossils which we find today where once living objects. All the living objects contains some carbon 14 atoms which are radioactive. When a living object dies and forms Fossil, it's carbon 14 radioactivity goes on decreasing gradually. In the carbon dating method, the age of fossils is found by comparing the carbon 14 radioactivity left in fossils which the carbon 14 radioactive present in living objects today.

FOSSILS:

Fossils are the preserved traces of living organisms. The age of the fossils can be calculated by the following ways:

☆HOMOLOGUS ORGANS: Same origin and structure but different functions. eg: limbs of humans , lizard and etc.

☆ANALOGUS ORGANS : Different origin and structure but same function. eg: wings of birds and wings of bats
