b. the fossils present in the botton rock are simple while the most recent fossils are found in the upper strata and they are very complex. the geographical succession completely agrees with the concept of evolution.

c. fossils can indicate the phylogeny of some organisms like horse and elephant.

d. some fossils have characters bw two groups. for eg. toothed bird archaeopteryx is a connecting link bw reptiles and birds
