Fossils are remains or impressions of organisms that lived in the remote past. Fossils provide the evidence that the present animal have originated from previously existing ones through the processof continuous evolution.

Answer:
fossils are the skeleton's of dead people and other animals who lived long ago in the past
Explanation:
-they tell us about the process of evolution that hoe the early mankind used to look , move , etc.
-now they can't tell us every thing ,we have to make some assumptions ; right
-we have to imagine their mass, their skin, texture, etc.
-so, basically even though they don't tell us everything by themselves , still they form the base of all the assumptions and our learning about them.
