2. It monitors the bank in actually maintaining cash balance.
3. It sees that the banks give loans not just to profit-making businesses and traders but also to small cultivators, small scale industries, to small borrowers, etc
4. It takes the information from other banks on how much they are lending, to whom, at what interest rate, etc.
5. It also issues currency notes on behalf of central government.
