Fundamental rights are basically human freedoms that every Indian citizen has the right to for a proper and harmonious development of personality. These rights universally apply to all citizens irrespective of race, place of birth, religion, caste or gender. The constitution of India provides Right to Equality, Right to Freedom, Right against Exploitation, Right to Freedom of Religion, Cultural and Educational Rights and Right to Constitutional Remedies. These Fundamental rights also aim at overturning the inequalities of pre-independence social practices. These rights have helped Indians in the post-independence times to eliminate the socio-economic differences and live a peaceful, harmonious  life as per their beliefs in co-existence with the other citizens of the country. On the one hand constitution gives all the citizens right to educate themselves in an atmosphere of equality and liberty so that they are able to grow freely. At the same time, on the other hand they are given the right o protect themselves against any exploitation and ensure the enforcement of Fundamental Rights.
