Let's discuss about the gamma rays

gamma \: rays \: ( \gamma )

Gamma rays :- Basically, the gamma rays are electromagnetic radiation. so, they are massless.

that's why only it has the neutral charge.

when the radioactive decay happens, then, the nucleus of radioactive element start radiating alpha beta and gamma rays together.

they can be easily separated from each other by putting the radioactive element under the electrical or magnetic field.

the beta ray will be separated out as it will be attracted towards to positive plate and the Alpha will also separated out as it attracted toward the negative plate.

but, the gamma rays will not show any type of deflection or attraction towards any plate because it has the neutral charge.

Basically, the gamma rays at the form of energy.

and when the Gamma decay happens, then, the charge and the mass of an atom is not affected or changed at all.

the Alpha Ray cannot pass through the paper.
but the beta rays can pass through the paper while cannot pass through the aluminium.

and at last the gamma rays can pass through the paper as well as aluminiumnium but cannot pass through the lead.

these rays are really harmful to humans body.
because they can penetrate in our body and cause a tremendous damage.

hope, now your concept is clear about the gamma rays.
