A heterotroph is an organism that cannot produce its own food, instead taking nutrition from other sources of organic carbon, mainly plant or animal matter.

Example:- Plants, algae, and some types of bacteria.

✏ Autotrophs:-

A living thing that is able to feed itself using simple chemical substances such as carbon dioxide.

Example:- Plants like blue-green algae and bacteria such as cyanobacteria.
