Histograms are a special form of bar chart where the data represent continuous rather than discrete categories. ... In a bar chart the length of the bar indicates the size of the category, but in a histogram it is the area of the bar that is proportional to the size of the category.

Defination of Histograms !

  • A histogram is a pictorial representation of the grouped data in which class intervals are taken along the horizontal axis and class frequencies along the vertical axis .

  • For each class a rectangle is constructed with base as the class interval and height determined from the class frequency .
