What are homologous organs? Can the wings of a butterfly and the wings of a bat be regarded as homologous? Why?(All India - 2011)

organs which are similar in structure but its functions are different. eg:limbs of horse , bird ,humans etc.,

no, because bats have different stucture (ie)they have folded skin between fingers but butter fly's wings  are made up of membreanes which are covered with scales and hairs . but this is an eg of analogous organs
