(i) Indian Ocean present in the south of India connects India with the Africa and Gulf countries which provide India oil.

(ii) It is also a centre between Africa and other East Asian countries which increases its importance in trade and culture of Asia.

(iii) Its long coastline with the Indian Ocean helps India to control the trade of other countries.

(iv) India has a great range of mountains known as the Himalayas in the north which blocks ocean currents and control the weather conditions of India. It is home of many natural and beautiful valleys like Kullu and Kashmir.
