Indicators are substances that indicate the nature of solution whether it is acidic or basic.
In acid indicators like litmus paper colour change to red and in basic solution it changes to blue.
In acid methyl orange indicator is red and in bases it is yellow

indicators are natural or man made simple or complex substances which are used to check whether a substance is acidic or basic in nature.
they just simply change their colour when added with that solution :p.
some of the indicators are as follows :)
1) litmus paper.
2)turmeric
