Infectious agents are those unicellular and multicellular organisms that cause infectious diseases.

Infectious agents are broadly divided into 5 categories --->

1) Virus ---> AIDS, Common cold, influenza, zika,etc
2) Bacteria ----->Typhoid, Cholera, Tuberculosis,Diarrhoea,etc
3)Fungi ----> Ringworm,Athlete's foot,etc
4) Protozoa ---> Malaria, Sleeping sickness, Kala-azar,etc
5) Worms ---> Ascariasis, Elephantiasis

Infectious agents are the living agents like viruses, bacteria, fungi,etc.. that cause infectious diseases to the host.
