Inscriptions are old notes which can be on stones or barks of trees marked by ancient people. They are source of information as ancient people write their thoughts in it,they use these inscriptions as written record as they do not have any paper or other thing to write on it.

Inscriptions are the writings that were engraved on stone or metal slabs particularly inscribed on the order of the king or queen.

In the following ways, the inscriptions are a reliable source of information:

1. From inscriptions, we can get to know about the political, economic and religious condition of an empire or kingdom.

2. Since inscriptions are not subject to change we can get the actual information by understanding them.

3. There may be biases in the literary resources such as books and other official records, however, inscriptions were recorded as the king dictated so there is less possibility of biases.
