Carnivorous plants are plants that derive some or most of their nutrients ) from trapping and consuming animalsor protozoans, typically insects and other arthropods. Carnivorous plants have adapted to grow in places where the soil is thin or poor in nutrients, especially nitrogen, such as acidic bogs. Charles Darwin wrote Insectivorous Plants,

insectivorous plants are plants which rely on insects for their food. they grow in the soil where nitrogen is deficient. hence they catch insect and utilise the nitrogen present in them.
